Artist's CommentsI (re-)present to you The City That Never Wakes. Our heroine Maiya is one of my older and most favorite OCs. Hopefully she'll grow to be one of yours too. Less Than Three fans, please don't kill me! I promise I am working on pages for that too. I just needed a change of pace. I am planning on getting a new page of that up this weekend. I recently went through a lot of my old work, and I realized how much I have been neglecting this comic and it's characters. I wanted to add on to the story, but the original pages are so old I was terrified of the style jump. Plus the original is a right to left comic, and besides no longer being able to draw in that manner, I really wanted to westernize this to reach a wider audience. So I redrew it, and realized I had no desire to tone (nor did I remember how). So 18 hours later, we have this paint. I have always wanted to do a painted comic, so we'll see how this goes. Also, some of you may have noticed the name change. Yume is now Xander. That's part of the westernization. Don't worry about it. And this is a definite improvement over your old version. The emotion coming from Maiya is a lot more realistic looking in my opinion. I really love the close up shots on her eyes. I can't wait to see more of this. but these pages look EXCELLENT I really like the background so very ominous I westernized too! Actually all my characters used to have Japanese names, but now they all have American names haha |
